Home again

Not to leave anyone hanging--we did get to come home yesterday. His ANC counts were at 400 on Tuesday, and so he came home on IV antibiotics until we know his counts have reached 500. He's feeling great--his appetite is back full force and he's acting like his old self again. We are going to enjoy it while it lasts!

  1. Sonja,
You don't know me but I am friends with your brother and sister inlaw Jon and Bryanna. In reading their blog, I saw your blog and was really inspired by what your family is going through. I have three kids who were born with a genetic disease that is both rare and can be fatal. All three of my kids are in various stages of bone marrow failure. My daughter who is 18 will soon be starting chemotherapy herself. She had a year of chemo back in 2007 so when I read your posts, it brings back so many memories, some good, some not so good!
Anyways, just wanted to thank you for sharing Steven's journey and hope you don't mind if I follow his recovery. It is so helpful to read about others' stories, so inspirational and helps me in my own trials. Trials such as these are holy places for sure! I have never felt closer to the spirit then when we are enduring such difficulties. I wouldn't trade them for anything! Our family will be adding our prayers to the many others being offered on behalf of Steven and your sister. I hope you are able to find some rest and peace as you balance your family and chronic illness, it's not easy for sure but you will be blessed beyond measure because you are a mother! Take Care- Kathy
