So far, so good for Steven. We got to the hospital Friday morning and didn't get the chemo started until 5:30 or so. I guess they need to hydrate him before they start, but I swear they could have started sooner. It felt like such a sad way to spend the beautiful day. We did finally figure out that there is a patio and so we spent some of the afternoon out there soaking in the sunshine. He ate a little breakfast this morning and so far he hasn't thrown up at all. If all goes well, we'll be home before bedtime on Sunday night.

Good luck this weekend, Steven. I sent an iPad app for you to your dad's email address.
ReplyDeleteHi, this is Angeleah MacDonnell. I am Brittany's sister. Do you remember me? Anyway, I just wanted to tell you I think you must be totally amazing to be going through this. I can't imagine having a sick child and sister at the same time. My heart is so heavy everytime I think about all that you are going through. If there is anything I can do...I will put your names in the St. Louis Temple and pray for you. That is what I will do. Know that you and your son are loved all the way out here.
ReplyDeleteit was great to see you tonight, Steven, and your parents too. we're thinking about you every day. good luck with this round.
ReplyDeleteWe were all so touched by your dad's words today. What an inspiring and strong family you are. We think you are all awesome! We love you and hope all went well today and that Steven is home in his own bed. We had strep throat floating around our house this week, so I didn't offer to help at all. Everyone has had a round of antibiotics and we should be in the clear to help out this next week if you need anything.
ReplyDeleteSteven looked good tonight. Good to see the family. Hang in there!
ReplyDelete' You won't be the same after all of this - you will be awesome!' Great words about you in conference by your grandpa. You are awesome Steven and Sonja and Robert will be even more awesome when all of this is behind you.
ReplyDeleteNot every kid gets a half a minute in General Conference. I think Grandpa and that Doctor are right-you'll be stronger, and so will your family.
ReplyDeleteTrevor and Savannah listened intently to your Grandpa's talk, Steven. Thanks for your great example of courage in the midst of trials. We are still praying for you- I will put your name and Alisa's on the prayer roll at the DC temple tonight!
